he UniFi Switch Pro 48 PoE mixed network interface includes 48 GigabitEthernet ports and two additional slots for SFP+ modules. The switch supports PoE power distribution on all RJ45 connectors, but there are some peculiarities. Thus, only 8 ports support the modern 802.3bt standard, while the remaining 40 ports can work exclusively with PoE+ type. This fact should be taken into account when designing a network.
The main difference between UniFi Switch Pro 48 PoE and switches of younger models is the characteristics of the integrated power supply. It is thanks to its indicators of 660 W the model is able to provide power on ports 41-48 with a power of up to 60 W per client device, according to 802.3 BT POE++ standards. At the same time, ports 1 through 40 can be powered using 802.3 AF PoE+ standards
One of the most noticeable innovations is the presence of a 1.3-inch touch display on the front panel. Using it you can make adjustments to the switch parameters, as well as view some statistical information without resorting to the graphical interface.
Taking into account the possible appetites of the device, the model was equipped with a 660W power supply unit, and the active cooling system was retained for quality heat dissipation. The latter has not escaped modification either, and now thanks to the use of low-noise coolers the operation is practically silent.
